Method & Masthead
Every read on this site follows one standard: start from the public record, link every claim to a public document, attribute no motive to anyone, and label anything unverified rather than assert it.
The Intelligence Desk is a public-records intelligence desk, not a news feed and not an opinion column. A signal earns a full brief only when its public record is confirmed. Until then it stays on the Watchlist as a single tracked line — named, dated, and honest about what is not yet verified.
We read agendas, filings, dockets, ordinances, RFPs, and agency documents before they become news. Records first, reports second, opinion last.
We link to the primary or official document — a county agenda, a docket page, a state law, an RFP PDF. Where a record is first reported by a local outlet, we cite that outlet and name it as such.
Each brief carries a Sources block. A claim without a public source is either labeled unverified or does not run.
We describe what the record shows. We do not assign intent, endorse, oppose, or predict. Patterns are called patterns, never intent.
Nothing here is legal, investment, or lobbying advice. Private, tailored reads are a separate, consented engagement.
Watchlist and Hold items are marked as such. "Verifying" means verifying. We would rather publish an honest gap than a padded certainty.
Monitored daily. Updated when a verified public record establishes a material change.
Each feed item carries the date of the record it reports, not the date it was posted; the Feed header shows an "as of" date so a reader always knows how current the desk is. Evidence-status labels are defined on the evidence standards page.
A live list of the official sources and regional outlets the desk monitors — with public links and status — is maintained on the home page's Live Source Watch. We link to official pages and outlet landing pages; we do not republish article text or bypass paywalls.
Public intelligence — not legal or investment advice. Corrections and source questions are welcome via the contact page.
